One of the leading traditional African groups in the UK, originating from the Ga tribe of Southern Ghana. Katatsitsi. They combine local & wider West African, rhythms, chants, singing & dance in strong, energetic performance.
TANANTE WITH IYA SAKO - http://www.drumroots.org.uk
Tanante are fast becoming one of the UK’s best respected Traditional West African Drumming groups, creating powerful drumming, song & dance performances. Joining them, their friend and teacher IYA SAKO; a Guinean Master Djembe fola of the highest calibre.

Sura is a kora player from the Gambia, a member of the well-known Susso Griot family & performs with The Seckou Keita. Returning to deliver a deeply beautiful and moving performance.

This trio of Senegalees and Gambian artists come together as the Kajamor Family. Led by Ibrahima Sagna (Sens) performing a traditional Serouba set; they will inspire with ancient Mandeng rhythms and song.

Drum Roots is a co-operatively run organisation, embodying the spirit of togetherness fostered by music. Based in Manchester we provide teaching, workshops, events & appear as the performance group Tanante in the Northwest and around the UK.
